Julia Toro: Huellas y desplazamientos
Visual identity and exhibition catalogue design for Julia Toro: Huellas y desplazamientos, an exhibition presented by Centro Cultural La Moneda and the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, celebrating the work of photographer Julia Toro, recipient of the 2024 Antonio Quintana Award for photographic achievement.
Bringing together fifty works produced between 1973 and 1987, the exhibition reveals a personal and poetic perspective on everyday life in Chile, focusing on domestic spaces, intimate encounters, and overlooked moments that unfolded alongside the country’s recent history. The communication system responds to the subtle and observational nature of Toro’s practice, prioritizing clarity, rhythm, and space as vehicles for engaging with the images.
Developed across both exhibition graphics and editorial formats, the visual identity establishes a coherent framework for presenting the artist’s work while preserving its sense of intimacy and openness. The resulting system supports a reading experience shaped by fragments, traces, and personal narratives, reflecting the exhibition’s exploration of memory, displacement, and lived experience.
