Morfogénesis

Morfogénesis
Part of "Taller Diseño Local" course in 2021

Morfogénesis is created as a proposal which seeks to value and explore the expressive and structural limits of concrete, leading material experimentation to seek variables that appeal to the senses, with a focus on the visual and tactile.

Although traditional concrete is a low-cost and easily accessible material, emphasis has been placed on reducing its environmental impact by adding a percentage of calcium carbonate from mussel shells as a substitute for cement, a fundamental part of its composition.

In the search for more expressive forms that move away from the cold, rigid aspect of concrete, a system of flexible molds has been used, generating a relationship between process and form, allowing the natural forces of gravity, elasticity, and viscosity of the mixture to act.
